Climate Science Goes to Court!

May 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Cascadia Climate Action is bringing Climate Science on Tap to Columbia City’s The Royal Room for the first time with a fascinating presentation and moderated discussion on how science and concerned citizens can drive climate action in law and policy. Attorney Andrea Rodgers with Our Children’s Trust* will share her work on behalf of youth plaintiffs in the landmark case of Juliana v. U.S currently pending.

Invited, also, is Pete Erickson, scientist with the Stockholm Environment Institute,* who has provided foundational scientific evidence in support of the plaintiffs and who will share his experience in communicating climate science and the impact of global warming to decision-makers. Moderator will be P. Sean McDonald, Ph.D, lecturer with Program on the Environment and researcher with the School of Aquatic and Fishery Science at the University of Washington.*

Come for the thought-provoking presentations and stay for the delicious beer and inspiring conversation!
