Health Care for All: Discussion with Dr. Ken Fabert

December 16, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The United States is facing an ongoing health care crisis. We pay more for health care than any industrialized nation yet receive inferior care. We have the highest infant mortality rates among developed countries, falling almost entirely the poor. We stand alone among wealthy nations by our failure to provide universal health care. This is a scandal – no one is free if they must choose between food, rent, and health care. Yet as many other nations demonstrate, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Join us for a presentation and discussion with Kitsap resident Dr. Ken Fabert about the need for Health Care for All. A practicing primary care physician in the United States for 28 years, Doctor Faber is a member of Physicians for a National Health Program and an advocate for single payer health care. He spent three months as a roving clinician in New Zealand to find out more about how their single-payer health care system works. He’ll discuss the current crisis of the American health care system, why single payer makes sense, and how we can achieve it.
