House On Fire: Sunrise Demonstration for Climate Justice

On Monday, Dec 16th, join Sunrise Movement Seattle and our allies in the fight for climate justice.
Our house is on fire. We’ve already lost so much, and if we don’t take action fast, we’re going to lose more. But our senators are not taking urgent action to put this fire out, save our planet, and ensure a livable future.
So it’s time to show them what the cost of inaction is. We will gather at the Federal Building to flood the senators’ offices and show them what climate change is taking away from us now and will destroy in the future. Charred and burned diplomas, photographs, and other items of personal significance will represent important and cherished things that have been or will be destroyed in the fire of climate change.
Sunrise calls on the senators to immediately sign on to the Green New Deal, a plan to mobilize every aspect of American society to 100% clean and renewable energy by 2030, a guaranteed living wage job for anyone who needs one, and a just transition for both workers and frontline communities.
