Immigration Update

Please join WIDEN, Lawyer Moms of America, and Indivisible Washington’s 8th District for an immigration update and panel discussion.
Panelists include:
– Hope Frye, immigration attorney and lead volunteer on Flores site visits to investigate the conditions for children in detention facilities. – Victoria Mena from Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network.
– Melissa Campos-Castaneda, local asylum and removal defense attorney.
Also invited to speak:
– ACLU-WA.
– Office of the Washington Attorney General.
Topics will include:
– Conditions for children and families in detention centers, Flores protections for detained children, and the recent final regulations which would sunset those protections.
– Changes in policies (MPP, no third country, changes in asylum criteria).
– New rulemaking (HUD and public charge rules).
