Kitsap SURJ – #2 (of 2) NOV Meetings

November 28, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Each quarter, Kitsap SURJ hosts a workshop connected to our work of helping people build skills in moving white people to join the multi-racial movement for racial justice and to organize to undermine white supremacy. On this night, Chuck Tanner of Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights will lead a workshop and conversation to help us in identifying and understanding white nationalist and white supremacist ideology and groups (including those in our region) so that we can undermine their harmful rhetoric and actions. Come on out and deepen your skills!

Kitsap SURJ holds two monthly meetings. All are welcome! We focus on skills-building, education, community organizing, mobilizing, actions, and more as means of moving white people in our local communities to act as part of a multi-racial majority for racial justice with passion and accountability.
.
We work to undermine white support for white supremacy and to do so in ways that are accountable to local POC-, Indigenous-, Brown-, and Black-led groups and organizations.
.
Meetings are open to all. Newcomers are welcome. Kids and youth are welcome. Food is available. Often people are interested in carpooling; just ask! Check out the Files section of the Kitsap SURJ Facebook Group to read notes from past meetings and to get a sense of Kitsap SURJ: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KitsapSURJ/files/.
