League of Women Voters/ Training to Become a Census Ambassador

January 13, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Port Orchard Library, 87 Sidney Ave in Port Orchard
LWV will offer training to “Census Ambassadors” , volunteers who will become informed about the census process and who will share that information as part of a massive program of public education. At the trainings, LWV have sign-up sheets for being a “Census Ambassador” on Census Saturdays at various locations of the Kitsap Regional Library and possibly other community buildings in February and early March. The Kitsap Complete Count Committee for the census will offer another phase of training later in January for those who want to help with the second step of “Get Out the Count” activities. This training will prepare volunteers to assist individuals in being prepared to answer questions on the census form and in actually navigating on the census portal online. This phase begins after the census portal opens on March 12 and continues through April. There are 3 phases to the LWV Census efforts: 1) Education 2) Get Out the Count Activities 30 Watchdog Reporting. You don’t need to be a LWV member but if you want to become a member, there will be an opportunity at these meetings.
