No Methanol Land And Water Action and Community Camp-out

May 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The world’s largest fracked gas-to-methanol refinery threatens our air, water, and climate! Governor Inslee and the Department of Ecology can stop the Methanol Refinery from being built this year.

Join locals in the resistance to this massive fossil fuel expansion!

Participants are encouraged to camp together at Camp Kalama. We’ll have kayaks on the Kalama River, and participants on the beach at Camp Kalama for a Rally followed by a community gathering and barbecue.

We will host folks coming in on Friday night, and people can also stay the night on Saturday. Expect a family friendly atmosphere with music, campfires and community spirit!

While the governor is speaking out on climate change, and has denied the largest oil terminal in North America, he has yet to oppose the World’s Largest Fracked Gas to Methanol Refinery, which would become the largest polluter in Washington by 2025, if built.

Join us in a land and water action in Kalama, to tell Governor Inslee and the Department of Ecology to protect our communities from this massive fracked gas project!

Camp Kalama is the closest non-industrial business to the proposed refinery site, and houses many permanent RV residents. The owner and residents have invited us to help stop this project, and protect this community from the health and safety impacts of the Methanol Refinery.
