Public Policy Basics and Advocacy Tips and Tools

PUBLIC POLICY BASICS – So how does a bill become a law? Who gets to decide what goes into the state budget? If legislators make laws, what does the governor do? Join us for a public policy basics class that will help you understand how local, state and federal government work. 9 am – 12 pm

ADVOCACY TIPS AND TOOLS – Do you know how to comment on a bill? How about researching what your legislator is working on? Or finding out what bills are in play? Join us and learn how to use online resources to track and engage with the state legislature. Bring your laptop or device if you have one. 12:30 pm – 2 pm

Snacks only will be served. If you attend both classes, bring a sack lunch!
