Spread a Sukkah of Peace at the NW Detention Center

October 20, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

You are invited to bring the ritual and beauty of the Sukkot holiday to the NW Detention Center. Join us on Sunday, October 20, at 12:30 PM for songs, food, and ritual under the Sukkah, as we call for an end to ICE detention, hear from people who have been detained, build solidarity for migrant justice among Jews and allies, greet people as they visit loved ones incarcerated at the NWDC, and learn simple ways to join the movement for migrant justice.

We also invite you to bring items needed by people detained at the NWDC: men’s sneakers (no laces or colors), yarn, paper (no spiral binding), colored pencils, small backpacks, and small headphones, or money to contribute to La Resistencia for this purpose.

For details about carpools, parking, or to offer your help, please email Dina Burstein (dinaburstein@gmail.com)

A Kadima event, co-sponsored by the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW and Seattle Interfaith Migrant Rights Network
