SWARM Chase Bank til they Defund Tar Sands Pipelines!

As fires rage in BC and Seattle is filled with smoke, Kinder Morgan states that it is on schedule to begin construction of the Trans Mountain Pipeline in September, a project that would result in seven times as many oil tankers in the Salish Sea and would pose a grave threat to the survival of the Southern Resident Orcas.
Pipelines like Kinder Morgan are being planned over the objection of the 150 First Nations and Tribes in the Treaty Alliance Against Tar Sands Expansion and the 150,000 people who signed a petition demanding that Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America stop funding new tar sands projects.
The big banks know these pipelines are a risky bet financially, are bound to spill, and would put them squarely on the wrong side of history on climate change. BUT… they’re not going to walk away until they hear from us!
On Friday August 18th, join 350 Seattle, Greenpeace USA and Mazaska Talks as we swarm a(t least one) downtown Seattle Chase Bank branch, deliver 150,000 signed petitions and issue our demand to Chase Bank: “Defund Tar Sands Pipelines NOW!”
We plan to remain in at least one, but potentially a few banks, as long as we can to make our voices heard, starting at noon.
