Tesoro Refinery Permit Appeal Hearing

February 27, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

The Tesoro (recently renamed Andeavor) Anacortes Refinery was granted a crucial shoreline permit that could allow them to ship toxic Xylenes from Skagit county. This plan endangers our community, our climate and the Salish Sea. In granting the permit, the Skagit County Hearing Examiner made several mistakes, overlooked rules, and ignored hundreds of public comments.

A group of six environmental organizations has come together and appealed the decision. The first step is a public hearing in front of the Skagit County Commissioners. The proceedings will be much like a trial, but it will be in front of our elected county commissioners. Your presence at the hearing will remind them that the community cares deeply about protecting our air and water from these kinds of dirty and dangerous projects.

Please turn out for this hearing on Tuesday, February 27 from 9am-11am to show that concerned citizens are watching.
