WA Poor People’s Campaign Indigenous Contingent

June 18, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Poor People’s Campaign (PPC) was Martin Luther King Jr’s effort in 1968 to gain economic justice for the poor in the United states.

PPC is a National Call for Moral Revival. The PPC has begun a 40 Day 6 week Action PPC has united thousands of people across the country to challenge systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation, and the nation’s distorted morality.

Week 6 is PPC final week: A new and unsettling force challenging our nation’s distorted moral narrative.

On June 20, 1968, Natives protested outside the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C., at the end of the Poor People’s Campaign, an effort that had been organized by Martin Luther King, Jr., to demand economic justice for people living in poverty. The Time has come for our Indigenous Community to continue this Tradition and Rise!
