Door-knocking for Democrats in Bremerton
September 3 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join Indivisible Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap Indivisible in canvassing for Democrats in Bremerton. It’s less than an hour’s drive from Bainbridge Island. Face-to-face is the single best way to get the word out. Statistics say talking with voters increases voter turnout by 6%. It helps us learn how constituents are feeling, and what they want from their representatives.
Bremerton is split between LD 23 and LD 26, so we’re splitting our time:
- Door-knocking for State Rep. Tarra Simmons who is running for re-election in LD 23. She did so much good work in her first term, so we are especially excited to help her get re-elected.
- Door-knocking for
- Sen. Emily Randall who is running for a second term as LD 26’s state senator. She was first elected in the Blue Wave of 2018 by just 104 votes. Among other bills, she brought about a 6-year-long commission to study how all Washingtonians can have affordable healthcare.
- Adison Richards (a lawyer for the Northwest Justice Project), who is running for Position 1. He wants to pass a senior property tax exemption.
- Matt Macklin (a nursing home administrator and business law attorney) who are running Positions 2.
We canvass every Tuesday and Saturday through Election Day on November 8.
Wear a mask and socially distance if it works for you.
We meet at the Starbucks inside the Safeway at 900 N. Callow. Email Kathy the day before if you want to carpool from the Clearwater Casino or Poulsbo.
If you are new to door knocking, download MiniVan from the AppStore or Google Play before meeting at Starbucks. We’ll get you trained on MiniVan, how to canvass and pair you with an experienced canvasser before you head out.
Bring yourself, a smile and go door to door with an experienced canvasser. It is fun! If you are an introvert, we need drivers to get canvassers around trickier areas. So drive us!
Start and finish times vary according to the heat-level!
Come once – see if it works for you: get your steps in 😉
