January Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting

Attend the next Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting to advocate for your state parks! The Commission will meet for a variety of issues but the designated public comments section on the meeting agenda allows local residents—like YOU—to speak up against military warfare training in our state parks.

If you wish to comment at a meeting, please fill out a comment card and provide it to staff at the sign in table. The Chair will call you up to the front at the appropriate time. You may also submit written comments to the Commission by emailing them to Commission@parks.wa.gov.

Travel Instructions to Get to Fort Worden From Port Townsend

We recommend taking the 7:15am, 8:45am, or—at the latest—the 10:15am ferry from the Port Townsend ferry terminal in Coupeville.

To use free public transit, take the 7:15am ferry and follow the below instructions (bus instructions are only applicable for this time frame):

Catch the bus at the stop adjacent to the ferry terminal on Water street—right in front of the bank on the water (south) side of the street.

1. Shuttle #11 – Loop A –  departs ferry bus stop at 8:03 – ride to the Haines park & ride — about 17 minutes (enjoy the scenic tour of downtown and uptown Port Townsend!)

2. Transfer to the #2 “Fort Worden” bus – departs at 9:00 and arrives at Ft. Worden at 9:11

(Both these routes run hourly).
