Learn how ballots are processed in Kitsap County

October 18, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

From the Kitsap County voters pamphlet:

Ballot processing is a public meeting. Come watch us work in person as we:
• Test our tabulation system (October 12)
• Receive ballots
• Verify signatures
• Separate the ballots from the envelopes
• Review ballots for any marks or damage that would keep them from
scanning correctly
• Duplicate ballots that cannot be scanned
• Scan ballots
• Review ballots for voter intent
• Audit our tabulation system
• Certify the election
Anyone wishing to observe the process or just learn more details about our
rules and procedures is invited to a training offered by Kitsap County
Elections. Staff members will go over the processes described above and
answer questions. The training will be:
6 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2021
Kitsap County Commissioner Chambers
Kitsap County Administration Building
619 Division Street, Port Orchard, WA 98366
To reserve a spot at the training, go to kcowa.us/elections and in the
General Election box click on “Observe Ballot Processing,” email us at
auditor@co.kitsap.wa.us or call us at (360) 337-7128.
