Rally on the Anniversary of Medicare to Protect It from Privatization

Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action is planning a rally and picket on July 29 at 11am at the 5th Ave Plaza of the Columbia Tower to celebrate the 57th birthday of Medicare and to call for its preservation as a public program by terminating ACO REACH.
The regional office of the Federal Dept. of Health & Human Services is on the 14th floor.
Speakers include Seattle city council member Teresa Mosqueda, Executive Secretary of the ML King County Labor Council Katie Garrow, Faye Gunther (president of UFCW 3000, formerly UFCW 21), Rachel Berkson (on behalf of Rep. Jayapal who will be in CA). They have also invited Rep. Adam Smith, who along with Rep. Jayapal, has formally announced his support for the campaign to stop the privatization of traditional Medicare.
