Examining Outside Influences on Voting Patterns and Behavior

March 1, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Many of us think of voting as a sacred right, priding ourselves on living in a democratic society where we have government for the people, by the people. But is that true? For many people living in the United States, voting isn’t a given right — it’s a hard fought struggle.

Join us for our March forum, where we’ll be screening videos from We the Voters, a groundbreaking digital campaign that the League of Women Voters has partnered with to inspire and activate voters across the country. We’ll be focusing on three issues that impact our voting patterns, attitudes, and behaviors: our media consumption habits, the historical struggle for voting rights, and the power of protest. Following the screening, we’ll dive into discussion about what encourages and discourages us about voting, what influences we see in our own voting behaviors, and how we can all continue the League’s mission of making democracy work.

We hope to see you there!
