Anti-Racism Workshop: Black Liberation

September 10, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The first of three workshops 350 Seattle is hosting to advance us on ending racism in our work supporting climate justice. Led by Tara Villalba, Sweetwater, and others. While this first set of workshops is full, we encourage you to get on the waitlist for the next set of Anti-Racism Workshops at our website: http://350seattle.org/people-gonna-rise/

We will look at how racism shows up in our lives and community spaces, the history of anti-black racism and how our economy benefits from it, how our differences are used to drive wedges between us, and strategies for working in solidarity with black people and ending racism in our own community.

Overall Goals:
1. Co-create and co-keep a space that is safe enough to have some charged
conversations about ending racism
2. Build relationships with other participants as we learn and commit to ending
racism, genocide, and war, in our environmental justice work.
3. Build a practice around convivio and encuentro

Come to all three if you can as they build on each other!
Sunday, September 10 – Black Liberation
Saturday, October 14 – Allies to Immigrants
Sunday, November 12 – Solidarity with Natives

Cost: sliding scale, scholarships available.
