Bans Off Our Bodies in North Kitsap – Rally for Reproductive Rights – Change of Location!

May 14, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Saturday May 14th at 3pm to 5pm

New location: The intersection of Highway 305 and Suquamish Way (changed from the previously announced Highway 305 at Day Rd.) This is off-island, just past the Agate Pass Bridge, near the Clearwater Casino. There’s more parking and room for the many people who plan to attend.

The Women’s March is sponsoring events on Saturday, May 14 across the nation in support of reproductive care rights. . The impact this Supreme Court decision will have on all kinds of healthcare rights, beginning with reproductive and then moving into other aspects of healthcare is the same thing we are fighting when we stand up to faith-based healthcare providers limiting our access to medical services based on ‘moral’ beliefs. Bring your signs and your belief in body sovereignty. We have extra signs if that is a barrier. Also, this is right at a bus stop so you can get here with mass transit.
About this event
On May 2nd, we learned from a leaked draft opinion that SCOTUS is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, stripping the constitutional right to abortion in spite of fifty years of precedent.
The Supreme Court is making their official decision on abortion rights in June. Once that happens, 26 states could move quickly to ban abortion, meaning millions of people could live without local access to abortion care.
Roe has always been the floor, not the ceiling. Many Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color experience barriers to accessing abortions. The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions.

We have to act NOW, all across the country. Together we will send a strong message that we’re not backing down. Supporting abortion access must be protected and defended.
