“Last week, National Geographic published an eye-opening article about the connection between fibroid tumors in women and phthalates – a class of chemicals used in plastics, cosmetics, and hundreds of common household items. Among other disturbing results, a team of Chinese researchers found increased risks of fibroids in women with escalating levels of byproducts of one phthalate called DEHP—a chemical that’s commonly added to plastics to make them flexible.”
