December 28, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

General meeting to discuss upcoming actions and get organized for 2021.
Reasons to join…Here are the resources that we have access to that we can leverage to help folks move their resistance agendas forward:
-Contacts in Rep. Kilmer + Sens. Murray and Cantwell’s offices in various offices specializing in immigration, the environment, etc.
-Connection with our west coast organizer, Nina – who keeps us up to date with national and local events and big actions with a heavy lift – and through whom we can promote and elevate our events and actions.
-Connections to sister groups throughout the country who can help us. They are based in specific geographical areas, and so that can be very powerful. That could be a way to access folks in Georgia, for instance to deliver postcards locally to fellow constituents. https://indivisible.org/groups
-Connections throughout the state with sister groups through networking and working together for the last almost 4 years. This is through the Washington Indivisible Network.
-Connections with passionate groups who work in specific areas, for instance North Seattle Progressive’s immigrant protection group and Seattle Indivisible’s connections with the immigrant and LGBTQ+ community. They enable us to keep up with issues as well as providing a network to pressure further.
-Access to powerful resisters and organizations who now have experience in moving forward with issues – and can provide expertise in how specifically to tackle them. For instance, Kevin Jones and Bill McClain are experts in analyzing data to finely tune where most efficiently to work, and postcards to voters offer a platform that has been deeply researched to enable us to write to reinforce the most important elections. The campaign that targeted the election for the Wisconsin judges, for instance. Their Supreme Court withheld the integrity of their election against Trump’s attacks.
-Access to a powerful name: there are 6,000 Indivisible groups, and they are widely known as the strongest force against the Trump administration. With the Indivisible name on a document or statement, it holds a lot of weight.
-Within our Bainbridge Island / North Kitsap Indivisible (BINKI) groupp, we have gained significant credibility within the community. For instance, combined, we mailed as a group around 30,000 postcards to encourage Georgia voters to turn out. That shows that our community respects our system, trusts our goals – and they are prepared to work hard within our groups.
-As to State legislature, we have access to a powerful new tool: the Take Action Network. It enables people to highlight and promote legislation – notably, to those whose legislators have the power to vote on them in their committee – or to people in their legislative areas, so that they can pressure their personal representatives.
