Closing the Vesting Loophole

Have you heard people talk about closing the Growth Management Act’s ‘Vesting Loophole’ and not had any clue what they are talking about? You aren’t alone! This is a weird and wonky bit of land-use policy that has been undermining the intent of the GMA for far too long.

Since 2008, Futurewise has been working in the state legislature to close this harmful loophole, which gobbles up our forests and farmlands for sprawling mega-mansions. In 2022, we want to get SB 5042 over the finish line once and for all.

Join us for a virtual educational panel to learn all about the ‘vesting loophole’, how it has impacted communities across the state, and how you can help us close the loophole in 2022.
