Mark your calendars. We are calling on community members to join Decriminalize Seattle and King County Equity Now at the youth jail (12th and Alder) on August 5th at noon for a historic Take to the Streets, Defund the Police March. People power from across our movements and across generations have led us to this historic moment. On August 5th, Seattle’s City Council can set a precedent for the nation in dismantling policing and reinvesting in community. Show up to be part of history in the making.
Together, our struggles and strengths have moved mountains to get us where we are now. Whether you have marched your whole life, or are marching for the first time, join us on August 5th at noon to march from the youth jail to City Hall to ensure our City Council knows they must vote yes to defund SPD by 50% and reinvest in the community.
