Defund Hate: Deliver 1,575 Paper Cranes to Our Senators

We are going to deliver 1,575 paper cranes to the offices of Sen. Cantwell and Sen. Murray—one crane for every person being held at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.

This is only 3% of all the people currently held by Trump’s immigration prisons, yet our Congress is on a path to increase funding for immigrant detention and deportation in 2020.

Our demand to our senators is simple: if the 2020 budget for DHS doesn’t freeze ICE and CBP’s funding at 2016 levels, and if it doesn’t place limits on Trump’s ability to transfer funds for immigration detention, then our senators must vote no on that bill.
