DEMOCRACY SCHOOL led by the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund

Join the KEC for a Democracy School led by staff of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF). CELDF is a national organization that has helped local communities for over 30 years to address environmental issues in social and legal terms.
CELDF tailors Democracy School to fit specific local needs. In our case, we will focus on situations where corporate interests are overwhelming our rights as citizens and the rights of nature.
The KEC has invited local residents, activists, members of nonprofits, and local officials who share our concerns to participate in Democracy School, with the aim of learning strategies to protect the environment and build community decision-making.
The Kitsap Environmental Coalition champions healthy land, water, and habitat. We engage in education and action through research, public presentations, speakers, films, letters to the editor, mainstream media coverage, digital social media, publications, tabling at farmers’ markets, and peaceful picketing. The KEC has become a powerful force in the fight for safe and sustainable forestry practices.
Democracy School is limited to 35 participants.
