In its attempt to combat the opioid epidemic, the DEA has drastically overcorrected its guidelines causing many in the pain management field to abandon the chronically ill who depend on these medications to control their pain. In some cases, these unrealistic guidelines have adversely affected quality of medical care by limiting options for those treating severe pain conditions. Don’t Punish Pain Rallies are scheduled in many major cities nationwide on Saturday, April 7. Washington State’s rally will be in Olympia at the Capitol Building at 416 Sid Snyder Ave. SE starting at 9:00AM. The purpose is to gain overall awareness and nationwide media coverage for this little-known problem.w
