Fishline’s HomeShare program is a county-wide housemate matching service that connects people with space to rent in their homes with those in search of housing.
Shared living offers companionship and security, increased affordability for both parties, and the chance to build meaningful connections that strengthen our communities and promote an ethic of mutual care and assistance.
Each participant in Fishline’s program undergoes extensive background and reference checks and creates a profile outlining their personality, needs, and preferences for shared living. Program staff make introductions based on compatibility and provide support and resources to set matches up for success; it’s always up to participants to decide whether they’d like to move forward with a match.
Especially now, as so many community members struggle with the financial and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the
companionship, mutual support, and cost sharing afforded by shared living can be a lifeline!
