Know Your Rights Workshop

Join us for a “Know your Rights” workshop with lawyer and professor Amanda Schemkes. She will cover the basic constitutional “rights” that tend to apply to people at demonstrations/protests, as well as during investigation, search, and arrest procedures. She will highlight the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments and also cover basic tips for encounters with law enforcement officers. The event is free – all welcome!
Amanda is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills at Seattle University School of Law, and she has been a grassroots activist and organizer for over a decade, which has included teaching hundreds of legal workshops, providing on-the-ground legal support to activists and frontline communities, and supporting political prisoners.
