LNG in Tacoma: Risks for Our Region
September 29, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
“LNG in Tacoma: Risks for Our Region” is an informational presentation about the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant being built at the Port of Tacoma by Puget Sound Energy. This project is continuing without full permitting and without the consent of the Puyallup Tribe or residents concerned about the safety of the project.
Join us to learn about the Tacoma LNG facility, the health, safety and financial risks of the project, the social and cultural costs, and the climate impact of shifting from coal and oil to fracked gas (aka methane). The presentation highlights community opposition — and how you can get involved in our collective effort to stop the project.
Presenters will be from 350 Tacoma and 350 Seattle. This event is not sponsored by the Library — all are welcome!
