Nonviolent Direct Action Training

April 14, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

With over 2,000 signers, the PNW Pledge of Resistance is a powerful tool to resist fossil fuels and uphold climate justice in our region. From shutting down fracked gas facilities to bank blockades, we are a community ready to resist the expansion of fossil fuels and the unfolding climate crisis with direct action and civil disobedience.

Learn the basic concepts of non-violent direct action from experienced trainers: how to plan an action efficiently, what roles might be needed, de-escalation skills, practice working through possible scenarios, types of blockades, and role play practice. This training is useful for both seasoned activists and those new to the movement.

Please REGISTER for this training — we are asking for a $10-$30 donation to cover costs (nobody turned away for lack fo funds):

Accessibility info: This training is on the first floor of a building, and is ADA accessible. Please do not wear strong scents to the training to accommodate people who are scent-sensitive.

This training is part of 350 Seattle’s Pledge of Resistance training series. Full series description is here:
