Pledge to Teach Truth

It’s time to take action. . . . again.
Last summer, teachers rallied across the country at historic sites to speak out against anti-history education bills and to make public their pledge to teach the truth. These actions, on June 12 and in August of 2021, have been the only national protests of this dangerous legislation.
The teacher and community led rallies received national media attention, providing a valuable counter narrative to the oversized coverage of anti-CRT protests at school board meetings.
Our Bainbridge Island community lead by MOBI, BIPOC advocates, interfaith and senior allies made a protective shield around our teachers and admin who elevated equity and let it be known that our community is built on understanding the truth in history and will back our teachers to teach it.
One year later, we invite educators, students, parents, and community members to rally across the country and pledge to #TeachTruth on June 12, 2022.
The situation is urgent.
Please meet us at Bainbridge Island Historical museum Sunday June 12th 1:00 p.m as we pledge to support our schools again for the 2023-2024 year. We picked the BIHM because it is an historic school house that taught the history of our island and the BIHM current exhibit elevates the diverse people and stories who contributed to understand that history
