This week we’ll be finishing up our list to Democratic voters in Wisconsin urging them to prepare for the April 4 election to elect the next justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. If Democrats can flip this seat (held be a retiring Republican) the Court will have a Democratic majority and be able to strike down the egregious laws passed by the gerrymandered state legislature designed to suppress Black and Hispanic voters.
And we’ll be starting a list for Jennifer McClellan, the Democratic candidate in a special election in Virginia’s CD-4. This congressional seat became empty with the death of Rep. A. Donald McEachin on Nov. 28.
From npr.org: “Virginia state Sen. Jennifer McClellan has overwhelmingly won the Democratic nomination to succeed the late A. Donald McEachin in Congress, party officials said Thursday.
“McClellan won the nomination 85% of the vote in Tuesday’s firehouse primary over Sen. Joe Morrissey, who netted just 14%, and two other candidates.
“She will be the overwhelming favorite in the heavily Democratic 4th Congressional District when a special election is held Feb. 21.”
This is a must win seat for Democrats to keep the GOP margin in the House from growing. We cannot let the GOP grab this seat in a low-turnout election.
