Threats to a Welcoming Kitsap: Xenophobia, Racism, and White Nationalism in Kitsap County is a collaborative report by Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights (IREHR) and Kitsap Showing Up for Racial Justice ( Kitsap SURJ ). The report offers useful context to the community push for welcoming resolutions (and attendant policies, procedures, and practices) that make clear in Kitsap our commitment to inclusion, equity, and multi-racial democracy
Chuck Tanner and Airen Lydick will join the May 11th meeting of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap Indivisibles (BINKI) to present the report that is a collaborative effort of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights (IREHR) and Kitsap Showing Up for Racial Justice (Kitsap SURJ).

Chuck and Airen will give an overview of the “Threats to a Welcoming Kitsap” report itself and speak to the report’s role as a tool in advocating throughout Kitsap for welcoming resolutions and for attendant policies, practices, and procedures to make those resolutions truly meaningful in our communities.
