We have a chance to make history.
We have a chance to keep a fully-staffed, 85-bed hospital in Bremerton!
The Department of Health in a rare move is allowing challenges to CHI-Franciscan’s plan to shut down the Bremerton hospital and consolidate all of Kitsap’s hospital beds in Silverdale.
Community leaders, healthcare workers, residents from around Kitsap, and Bremerton City officials are coming together to advocate for a fully-staffed, 85-bed hospital to remain in Bremerton.
Our voices are essential to the future of healthcare in Kitsap.

Background
Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) took over Harrison Medical Center in 2013 and now CHI Franciscan Health is asking the Washington State Department of Health for permission to close the Bremerton campus. Their plan calls for opening one new hospital tower in Silverdale in 2020 and a second in 2023, at which time they would shut down Bremerton.
