Our Seattle action workshops covers League of Women Voter’s of Washington’s advocacy priorities for the upcoming legislative session and will give you an opportunity to:
•Hear from lobbyists Nancy Sapiro and Pam Crone, on their outlook for the session
•Flex your political muscle in Olympia.
•Get the inside scoop on what to expect for the upcoming legislative session.
•Learn about critical issues facing our state: climate change, education, gun safety, and campaign finance to name just a few.
•Discuss the issues of greatest interest to you with legislators and our lobby team.
•Gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be a more effective, powerful advocate for the issues you care about.
The keynote speaker will be Marilyn Watkins of the Economic Opportunity Institute. She will speak on “Our Revenue and Income Inequality Debacle.”
Also on the Agenda are Anna Fahey, Sightline Communications Director, with some perspectives on communicating our messages.
Rep. Tana Senn, 41st District and prime sponsor of the Equal Pay Act, has confirmed and we are awaiting responses from other elected officials.
Registration and Networking starts at 9 a.m. and workshop starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration fee of $25 includes lunch, coffee and all workshop materials.
A limited number of scholarships are available if the registration fee would be a barrier to your participation.
