TAKE Action! Support families separated at the border

July 22, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Dear Friends,
Have you wondered how you can help families separated at the border? There are lots of ways to go about it, but it can take some know-how to get started. And when we work side by side with friends and neighbors, our actions feel more powerful. To that end, please come join this very family-friendly, FREE, “take action” event. Our sincere hope is to bring an enormous crowd of friends, family, colleagues and neighbors together to create something tremendously positive. Event highlights:

** Meet representatives working on the border situation
** Learn concrete ways you can take action
** Write letters
** Kids “take action” station (with bouncy house and popcorn)
** Raise money for legal aid and support for separated families
** 100% proceeds donated to ACLU, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) and El Comite

Speakers:
** ACLU: Robert Free, Immigration Attorney Emeritus
** WA State Rep. Lillian Ortiz-Self
** El Comite: Juan Jose Bocanegra, MSW, Coordinator

Sincerely,
Susanna Block, MD (Queen Anne resident)
P.S. My friends urged me to share this recent KOMO newsclip with you…it seems the answer to the question “what am I doing next” is this Take Action event. Please join me on July 22 and lets work together to press for justice for families separated at the border!
