Vigilance Against Injustice

April 2, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Human history is filled with examples of persecution and injustice, but World War II brought two events that showed us the tragic result of ordinary citizens giving into bigotry and irrational fear, perpetuated at the hands of their government: the Holocaust and the Internment of Japanese Americans. While history does not repeat itself in the same way, it certainly rhymes, and the hate crimes and attacks directed toward minorities represent an alarming development in this country that needs to be countered.

Join us for a special event that brings the Japanese American, Jewish, and Muslim communities together to share their stories and provide insight into how we can learn from our collective history in order to avoid the mistakes of our ancestors. This will be a panel discussion featuring a representative from each group, along with a short presentation with concrete action items that we can take, followed by a Q&A session.

We are living in a pivotal time, and this is an opportunity for all of us to come together and take a stand against bigotry, hatred, and persecution of “the other”. Please come out and show your support, and lend your voice to this important conversation.
