WA Climate Civic Action Training

February 8, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Do you care about climate change and the environment? Have you ever wondered what you could personally do to effect political change since acting as an individual seems hopeless?

We’ve been there. But now we want to work with you to get the attention of legislators. We can’t wait for politicians to make bold moves for the environment. We have to do it now, ourselves.

Join us on February 8th to learn how to spark political action from your elected representatives on climate issues in our state such as such as requiring utilities to use 100% renewable energy, instituting a carbon tax, and fighting fossil fuel infrastructure (campaigns happening NOW). We’ll discuss how you can act and have an impact NOW as a citizen advocate with your elected representatives, not only for the remaining days of the legislative session, but all year long.

Civic Action Teams share knowledge, skills, and tools for influencing elected officials. As part of a wide network lobbying elected officials about the same issues, with the same messaging, members amplify each other’s voices so that climate issues are brought to the forefront of politician’s legislative agendas. This year, organizers will help Civic Action Teams take a more active role during and after the legislative session.

We will be meeting in Prospect Churches Sanctuary. Please RSVP here:  http://350seattle.nationbuilder.com/cat_feb18
