Yes on I-1631 South Seattle Kick-Off Event with Senator Saldaña

April 9, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Between April and July, we need to gather 260,000 signatures to get the climate justice initiative I-1631 on to the ballot.

Join us for this event with Senator Saldaña to celebrate the launch of this important initiative and, more importantly, learn how you can get involved and help make sure this measure passes!

What: Yes on I-1631 South Seattle Kick-Off Event
When: April 9th, 6-730PM
Where: 4639 S Snoqualmie St, Seattle, 98118

The Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy is a broad and inclusive coalition led by communities of color, as well as labor and environmental organizations. For over a year now, 350 Seattle has been proud to be a part of the Alliance’s steering committee, working to make the initiative as strong as possible.

I-1631 isn’t perfect — by itself, the $15/ton fee it imposes won’t do much to reduce emissions, but the revenue raised will have a real impact over time. I-1631 is expected to raise over $1.15 billion a year for investments in clean energy programs, which will reduce emissions; critically, over $450 million of that money will be invested in projects in marginalized communities.

We hope you can join us on April 9th to get involved and help us pass I-1631.
