Issaquah Talks – Activism Through Art

April 26, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us as we partner with the YWCA’s national Stand Against Racism campaign to start community conversations around race and racism!

The event will feature a panel of four local artists at Issaquah YWCA Family Village who will speak about how they use their art as a form of activism that tackles issues like race, racism, and racial justice. Our panel includes Roosevelt Lewis, Leleita McKill, Kay Tarapolsi, and Wynn Adele.

After the panel, we will have an artist reception with dessert. At this portion of the event, art from our panelists will be displayed. There will also be a live painting performance from Delton Mosby, a community signing of the Stand Against Racism pledge, and continued conversation with one another.

ArtEast and the Highlands Youth Board will be leading a community art project for children to participate in during the panel discussion, with the final project being displayed at the reception! Artist Perry Painter will be helping lead this portion of the event.

This is an event you won’t want to miss!
