Jail and Legal Support

April 25, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

With over 2,000 signers, the PNW Pledge of Resistance is a powerful tool to resist fossil fuels and uphold climate justice in our region. From shutting down fracked gas facilities to bank blockades, we are a community ready to resist the expansion of fossil fuels and the unfolding climate crisis with direct action and civil disobedience.

If there is even a small possibility of arrest for your action, it’s important to have legal and jail support ready. Legal and jail support includes providing know your rights trainings before an action, inviting legal observers to the event, communicating with lawyers and providing assistance in finding lawyers, gathering personal info before the action, tracking activists who are jailed, and supporting those who are jailed when they are released and throughout any legal proceedings. If you are comfortable handling sensitive information, interacting with legal and justice systems, and able to provide reliable and confidential support, come to this training!

FREE – donation suggested to support training series.

Accessibility info: This training is on the second floor of a building with stairway and elevator access, and is ADA accessible. Please do not wear strong scents to the training to accommodate people who are scent-sensitive.

This training is part of 350 Seattle’s Pledge of Resistance training series. Full series description is here:
