Let’s Practice Talking about Race

December 5, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us in Living Room Conversations as we practice talking about race.
“Living Room Conversations” is a
guided conversation that practices
communicating across differences
while building understanding.
All are welcome, but space is limited. Please register for a spot on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/…/lets-practice-talking…
The City of Bainbridge Island, with its Race Equity Advisory Committee, and in partnership with the Bainbridge Public Library and Eagle Harbor Book Co., launched BI Reads for Justice, a six-month, all-community reads program running October 2022-March 2023.
The community is invited to read the first book in the program, “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You: A Remix of the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning” by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi.
“Let’s Practice Talking About Race,” is the second event for the book. This will be an open, respectful community conversation led in the format of “Living Room Conversations” (https://livingroomconversations.org/).
All are welcome to attend (even if you haven’t finished or started the book yet), but space for this event is limited, please be sure to sign up for a spot on Eventbrite. Come open and compassionate as we engage in respectful conversations.
