Teacher Workshop: Teaching Tolerance & Social Justice Standards

At the Henry and Sandra Friedman Holocaust Center for Humanity, in partnership with Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The Teaching Tolerance Curriculum is a collection of literacy-based, anti-bias, social justice resources aligned to Common Core English Language Arts and Literacy standards, and to the groundbreaking Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards.

Participants will:
• Gain practical tools and resources to teach about social justice and the Holocaust
• Identify and use materials that align with Common Core State Standards
• Be able to integrate Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Standards into existing classroom materials
• Explore the Holocaust Center for Humanity’s special exhibit, “Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank.”

Geared towards English, Language Arts, Social Studies, and History teachers in grades 5-12.
Clock hours and lunch provided. $20 registration fee.
